I absolutely love anything Emmrod!! .The 8 coil is very sensitive. MUCH More then I thought it would be.I have the 6 coil which is great for all around but wanted to try the more sensitive 8 coil . So nice! Highly reccomend Emmrod! Cannot go wrong!!!

8 coil spinning / casting rod

Posted by Buster on 4th May 2022

I had a 4 coil spinning/casting rod . It was pretty stiff so I ordered a 8 coil to go along with my kit .it was a great addition as it made catching fish 6 or7 lbs or smaller a lot more fun. Buster. Kirtley Texas

I put this tip on the battle rod handle and it’s the perfect setup!

    Very Handy

I got an additional rod tip (8 coil), which really adds to the versatility off the rod. I can quickly & easily change the "weight" of the rod to meet new or unexpected opportunities on the water. Great product!!!

    Great things in small packages

I have every fishing rod that Emmrod has ever made and love them all. They are so convient to carry with me and with a little practice, you can throw lures just as far as you did with the longer poles. I use these rods for everything from bream and bass to spanish mackeral, blues, and striped bass.

    8 coil rod

Posted by ParkersRiverRat on 1st Dec 2012

I have the heavy 4 coil I use for salt water, got the 8 coil for freshwater use, it casts nice with good size lures but too heavy for light trout/panfish baits unless you use a weighted float. Heavy enough for a big steelhead or any freshwater bass you might catch. I use 30# braid on the emmrod openface reel with a mono or florocarbon leader sized for the catch. Love my emmrod, may get the lighter tip for winter trout fishing.
