    Battle Rod

Posted by Best in class on 23rd Dec 2017

Indestructible backpack rod. Pairs well with 1000 to 2500 size reels - I am using the 8 coil for small to medium freshwater. Best second rod when backpacking or kayaking and good for special ops fishing.

    Awesome

Posted by Unknown on 28th Aug 2017

This rod is awesome. Greta for getting into small place and catching the big ones. First cast resulted in a 8lbs. large mouth bass. Works really real in the golf bag for a quick cast in the ponds.

    Outstanding In It's Field

Posted by Jesse Francis on 1st Aug 2017

I believe every tool has a purpose, and in its category the Battle Rod is the best: This is a rod for people looking for a exceedingly compact, indestructible fishing rod. This rod has one draw back, it takes a very specific casting motion that requires an amount of practice. Also, its casting distances are disproportionately affected by the weight of the lure or rig. This means that it is much harder to cast a light weight setup than it would be on a normal rod. You really need weight to get a good cast, and this is the only reason I begrudgingly gave it four stars. That being said, if you're top priority is durability and compactness, and don't mind sacrificing a little bit of casting distance, this is your rod!

    Emmrod catches cats

Posted by gordan on 24th Jun 2016

I rate the emmrod as great. I used it for the first or second time and caught a nice 4 pound channel cat. The area I fished had low level trees, and only the emmrod was able to fish the spot without getting tangled. It is the most unique fishing rod and reel combo I have ever owned. And I have been fishing over 40 years. There is only one major problem I have and it's all on me, what do I do with all my other fishing rods.

Great for stowing in backpack/bug-out bag

When backpacking or planning for emergency situations, food will always be at the forefront and fishing is much more viable than hunting.

    Versatile

Posted by Unknown on 24th Aug 2015

It takes a little getting used to, but is a riot once you get you pitch down. I have found that heavier weight lures work best....the take up is a little too long with live bait, resulting in a higher percentage of swallows/gut hooks. Best yet....it fits in my golf bag, so when my partner is taking forever to line up a putt, I can sight cast pond largemouth and catfish!
