    Best pole I own

Posted by Unknown on 27th Jul 2017

We fish off the boat, at the ocean along the shore, and off our canoe and these Emmrod poles are the best. They are never in the way and super easy to use in tight places. When on the boat after you catch the fish and you need to get the hook out of your fish just put the Emmrod down. Super easy, big poles are always in the way but not these. I can feel everything in the water with these pole they are just the best.

    Love it!

Took this rod on a 3 day river trip. Packed nicely and quickly. The rod is strong and holds up nicely for landing big fish!

Not a good fit for my intended use

Posted by Richard on 14th Jun 2017

I am intrigued by the emmrod concept for kayak fishing in the tight confines of our local rivers. However, I typically use ultralight lines and lures. Unfortunately, even the 8 coil rod is too stiff to cast such small lures. The quality is excellent. If emmrod made a rod for 1/8 to 1/4 oz lures, I would purchase in a heartbeat.

    High Quality product

The quality is excellent, the performance is good the spinning reel is smooth and the pole is good. The small size allows me to keep it in my PWC.

    quality product, limited application

Posted by Matt Mead on 13th Sep 2014

Emmrod makes a quality product that's for sure. The build and compact size are convenient and sturdy. The only draw back I've found is casting distance. I read a lot of reviews stating the casting was limited but I've found it to be more limited than most reviewers stated. I can easlily cast twice the distance with even an ultra light set up I have. When fishing rivers this is not much of a limitation but when salt water fishing the rod just doesn't stand up next to my usual set ups. It makes a great behind the seat of the truck rod but I have to say I was a little disappointed with the casting. Maybe if I had bought a lesser weight rod (I bought the 6 coil for up to 15 pound fish) or try a different combo it might cast further but with powerpro 20 pound and a Shimano Spheros 3000 it doesn't really deliver a long enough cast. I like the product but really wish it would cast a bit further.

    Good!

Posted by Ben on 17th Jul 2014

This is a really nice addition to my fishing gear. It works just as well as a normal pole in a kayak, with the bonus of being less prone to get snagged on overhanging branches. It doesn't cast quite as far as a full-size rod; but its compact design is worth the slight reduction in range.

    great pack fish pole

Posted by rickster on 13th May 2014

waited a while to use this amazing pole. paired with a flueger president reel, result is unbelievable !!!! I am using this off the back of my pontoon boat, because my son needs all the room in front of boat, I don't want a hook in my ear...keep the pole in my truck so I can stop at a pond on my way home. I move through the brush around pond like a gazelle no hang ups... Kayak king spin rod is the best! thankyou...
