Great product for hiking and backpacking!!
Had this fishing rod for about three weeks. Paired it with a Pflueger light reel. Works great. Makes it possible to fish tight areas and little streams that longer rods would make it difficult to fish. Handles nice, but takes practice to cast accurately. Makes many of my quick hiking trips more fun and varied.

Pack Rod with 8 coil end
Only used it a few times with the weather being so cold in my area but did manage to catch two Walleye my Pack Rod so far and I had zero problems pulling them in. Really a nice compact take anywhere fishing setup. I paired mine up the Daiwa 2000 Series Regal LT an awesome combo. Good for trout, bass walleye or anything else your trying to catch. Took a few casts to get use to it but otherwise I have no issues casting. Liked it so much I have since bought a few Kayak Kings and will be only using Emmrods from now on for all my fishing.

Packrod Spin
It's a high quality rod but just trying to get used to casting it,it's been 30 yrs since I last fished but I'll get back into the swing of it.I'm an Iraq '03 vet with the typical mental problems from being over there and hoping getting back into fishing will help out.

spin rod
The rod is AWSOME. Strong, well built, easy to use. I can fish anywhere with this rod. I fit my rod, tackle, real and lunch all in a napsack. So easy. I spoke with a rep named Tim. He is seriously fantastic. Helpful, professional, knowledgeable and super cool guy. I strongly recommend this product. Customer service is outstanding. All I need to really say is BRAVO!

Works for its purpose
The biggest complaint I see is people saying they cant cast crazy far with this. Can you? NO! Is this supposed to? NO! This has a use and it excels at what it is made to do. It is not an end all be all pole and is not meant to be so stop bashing it for what it isn't. I keep this in my pack for any day trip / hiking / camping fishing I may come cross. I can easily get this across any creek stream or moderate river I come across. The mechanics of the cast are a little different than a long pole but you get used to it and it works just fine with minimal adjustment. Great for kayaking as well. If you need something to bring on the kayak/canoe/boat that needs to not take up any space or throw in the backpack or one for the car this rod is highly efficient and has a really low footprint. I have a BG2500 on mine with 15lb test and it does everything i need it for. I am also not a deep ocean fisher or going out on boats way out past land so I can not speak on that. But for my uses this is PERFECT. I REPEAT: THIS POLE WILL NOT REPLACE ALL YOUR HEAVY DUTY LONG POLES USED TO CAST 150FT AND CATCH MARLIN. IT WAS NOT MEANT FOR THAT EITHER. My only gripe is that due to its packability it would be nice if there was some sort of bag to store it in. The spring part of the rod is just a tad bit, maybe 1mm, larger than the fat top part of the rod so it doesn't fit tightly and can slide off. I ended up getting a 14" handgun zip bag and it fits in there with the reel attached but there is some extra space in it. 10/10 would buy a case for it that fit better. Overall 4.5 stars for my needs. Great design and function.

Packrod
Strong but lightweight. Easy to take apart and put together. Casts as well as any pole.
