    Dad won't come home

Posted by troy sylvia on 2nd Jul 2014

Got this for my dad. He went up north 1 week ago and is loving it. The 1-3 lb. trout he is catching are a breeze with the sensitivity of the pole. He calls home nightly an lets me know how much he loves that pole.

    Fun

Its probably the best portable Rod made.It casts well just kinda has a cool factor. The sensitivity lacks a little ,but it is a 2' rod.

    Just getting to use it!

Posted by Bill Reed on 7th Apr 2014

I ordered this in November last year, and hadn't had the opportunity to use it until this weekend, due to ice. I really enjoy how compact this rod is. I'm still on a learning curve with the casting, and am only getting 40' casts right now. But, this comes down to practice. I've yet to catch anything on it yet, but the comfort and convenience of the rod is definitely in its favor. This is great as I can pack this with my dayhiking gear, a small tackle box, and fish in streams, ponds, etc-all without lugging everything else around. I look forward to many, many hours spent using this rod!

    50 crappie in an afternoon!

Posted by Unknown on 6th Apr 2014

I have fished with Emmrods for a few years now and have tried several different models. I recently purchased a packrod with the topwater pole. This afternoon I caught 50 crappie on this rod! These are tremendous dock rods and I highly recommend this outfit to anyone who crappie fishes. I had this teamed up with a Penn Fierce spinning reel, this is a dynamite outfit.

Good quality. Can't wait to fish them

Posted by Gary Kimball on 29th Mar 2014

I bought two of these this week (shipped quickly, by the way--I got them on Friday after ordering on Monday). While I haven't been out to fish yet, I have messed with them at home and put on new line (I hate the fact that reel companies tell you what kind of line you want). Anyway, I'm very pleased overall. The spring in my handles was very, very stiff the first few times I put rod ends in. Other than that, I can't really find anything to complain about. I dropped it a star due to cost. I think these product are overpriced by about 25% in my view. I spent over $500 on my total order (rods, reels, various ends); at the end of the day I feel like I overpaid significantly for what I got. Still, a fairly happy customer.

    Works,but expensive!

Posted by Unknown on 19th Feb 2014

Works as advertised! I have caught many trout with it since it arrived. Very light weight, easy to pack into a ruck. However, for what it is, the rod is very expensive. Especially when you still have to purchase a reel for it. Main concern is that I don't know how durable the plastic handle is; and if it's going to stand up to DEET based products this summer? Time will tell. Emmrod says: The grips on the Pack-rod are made from TPE. TPEs are a family of rubber like materials that combine the characteristics of rubber with the recyclability and processing advantages of plastics. TPEs are used in a variety of applications in the automotive, medical, construction, electrical, appliance, packaging and industrial markets DEET will not harm TPE

    perfect pack pole

Posted by Cevyn on 30th Aug 2013

I was looking for something compact, that I could easily fit in a backpack. After having multiple telescoping poles break, all the time, I came across this, and had to try it. It's very sturdy, lightweight, and breaks down even smaller than most telescoping poles. Emmrod's customer service is great too!

    Form and Function Shine

Posted by Lisa Jackson on 9th Nov 2012

My new Emmrod PackRod really fit the bill for me! I have MS and the disease has severely weakened my casting arm, yet my Emmrod casts as easily and as far as my 6-foot rod. In Central Montana we also have high wind to deal with. That can wreak havoc with a 6-footer. The compact length of my Emmrod virtually eliminates any problems the wind wants to dish out. My Emmrods' versatility allows me to use both open or closed faced reels, depending on weather conditions. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my Emmrod and have recommended it to other avid anglers. Thanks a bunch guys!
